Sarkodie turns Breastfeeding Ambassador

Ace Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo,
popularly known in showbiz as Sarkodie, has been
unveiled as the 2014 Ambassador for the Ghana
National Breastfeeding Campaign.
The multi award-winning artiste is to use his fame
to promote the culture of breastfeeding among
nursing mothers across the country.
In his acceptance remarks as the ambassador, the
rapper explained the importance of breastfeeding
to the wellbeing of children and nursing mothers.
He was speaking at the launch of the 2014 World
Breastfeeding Week by the Ghana Health Service
(GHS) on Wednesday in Accra.
According to him, breastfeeding prevents babies
from frequently falling ill and thus saves parents
from spending their scarce financial resources on
medical bills.
“Breastfeeding is very essential, and it is to save
yourself the cost and the stress of going to the
hospital all the time just because your child has
fallen sick because he/she has not taken the right
nutrients which are derived from breast milk,” he
said. He urged young mothers to constantly
breastfeed their babies for at least a period
exceeding six months.
He added; “I will let my followers know about the
importance of breastfeeding exceeding six
months… I will do everything I can to promote the
idea. I will use my social media platforms to
educate the public on the need to breastfeed
babies.”
The ‘Give It to Me’ rapper disclosed that the rate
of breastfeeding among young Ghanaian mothers
was very low.

Sonnie Badu to get married on August 23

Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Sonnie
Badu is busily finalizing arrangements to get
married to the love of his life.
Close friends and family sources have confirmed
the news to Citifmonline. The ceremony, which
would be officiated by Rev. Dr. Victor Osei of
Family Chapel in Kumasi and Pastor Kingsley
Appiagyei of the Trinity Baptist Church, is
scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom on
August 23.
Even though Sonnie has personally not announced
it publicly, close friends and family sources say
he’s excited about the marriage and sees it as an
overwhelming blessing.
Sonnie Badu is a multiple award-winning Gospel
singer, songwriter, philanthropist, producer, TV
presenter and author. He is arguably the most
successful gospel export to emerge out of Africa
in recent years.
His unique blend of intimate worship, high-class
visuals, and his energetic style of ushering
congregations into the presence of God is
affecting lives worldwide.

Hiplife artiste Eduwoji of ‘Yenko Nkoa’ fame arrested

Ghanaian Hiplife artiste Eduwoji has been
arrested by the Ada Police on the Accra-Aflao
highway yesterday 7th August 2014 for illegally
possessing a substance suspected to be
marijuana.
The Yenko Nkoa Hit maker who was in a group of
other three young men were said to be on their
way to ‘Mepe’ in the Volta region to perform at
the annual Asafotu festival.
According to sources, other artistes including Stay
Jay, Gallaxy and Tema based music promoter Mc
Coaches were also spotted being searched few
hours prior to Eduwoji’s arrival at the check point
where the police were doing a random search.
In accordance with the police regulation, the
musician and his entourage have been moved to
Ada police station to assist in police investigation.

Castro ’ s mood and force him not to return .
“ If you should keep on crying , then he (Castro )
could be annoyed and decide not to return to
earth again , ” she said .
She continued that everyone should expect to
see Castro spotting a new look upon his return .
According to her , he would be wearing dread
locks when he comes back to the land of the
living .

Who Killed Fennec Okyere : Bull Dog ’ s Case Adjourned to June 30 as Prosecutors Beg Court for More Time

So if the Human Rights Court did not rule
that the continuous holding of Bull Dog (real
name Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson ) in
Police custody was a clear violation of his
Human Rights and goes against the
traditional notion of substantial justice , he
would have been remanded in jail again
today as the prosecutors beg for more
time…huh ?
When BullDog who has been charged with
the murder of Fennec Okyere and
conspiracy to murder appeared at the Accra
Magistrate Court today, the prosecutors
begged the Court for more time to be able
to carry on with investigation—a request the
Court granted , adjourning the case to June ,
30.
It is such actions of the prosecuting body
that have led people to ask , what was the
point in arresting and detaining Bull Dog if
they did not have enough evidence to
present in Court , in relation to the charges
levelled against him …
It looks like ; we should embrace ourselves
for a long ride of ‘ judicial up and down ’ as
the prosecutors seem to be not fully
prepared for the commencement of trial …
Slapping someone with Murder and
Conspiracy to Murder with a possible life
imprisonment is not a joke , it must be
proven beyond reasonable doubt that
indeed the person committed the alleged
crime…
With how the prosecutors have started , it
surely looks like we will soon have the
charges dropped !
