has been involved in an accident.
Nydjlive reports the following;
“The comedian and brand ambassador
who is said to have been on his way to
Cape Coast this morning had the left
back tyre of his Range Rover crashed
into by a private car a few metres away
from the Winneba Junction.
No one sustained any serious injury
although both cars had some damage.”
Funny face hasn’t given out any official
word yet. We will keep you posted about

STATEMENT: Ghana Online Writers Association Suspends Publications On Sarkodie – Until Further Notice

Following lobbying efforts by the Ghana
Online Arts Writers Association (GOAWA)
against indiscipline in the industry,
especially towards the media, GOAWA
announces the publication of stories from
the camp of BET award winner and
Duncwills Entertainment rapper, Sarkodie –
until further notice.
The decision is precipitated by the rapper’s
recent expression of ungratefulness towards
the media and the passage of some
comments which we deem as an insult to
our profession and us as practitioners.
Efforts are being coordinated with similar
Associations/Movements with the common
goal of opposing the act of indiscipline in
the music industry in Ghana. This is not to
claim that the media is untouchable or is a
‘saintly’ institution – we also do get it wrong
sometimes and thus welcome constructive
criticisms.
However, Sarkodie’s comments in his song
titled ‘Free Press’ smacks of gross
ungratefulness. In our efforts to put Ghana
on the world map in terms of art and
culture through our writings online, we also
need to make sure we help shape and keep
a well disciplined and focused arts industry.
It’s unfortunate this action might affect our
ardent readers and his loyal fans alike, but,
we strongly feel this action can help in
establishing discipline among industrial
players and for a better industry for all. We
also urge our members to conduct
themselves in manners that do not cast
aspersions on the media and themselves –
as practitioners. Thank you.

Shatta Wale Arrested at Shangri-La traffic light By Police

Wale, was
on Monday
arrested by
the police
for “driving
with a
convoy and obstructing traffic,” Ernest
Dela Aglanu of myjoyonline reports.
Aglanu’s report further reads:
According to the police, the ‘Dancehall
King’ hit singer claimed he was late for a
flight to Italy so he had to use the
convoy to get to the airport early.
Supt. Yaw Tetegah, Airport Police
Commander who confirmed the arrest in
an interview with Myjoyonline.com
stated that Shatta Wale was arrested
around the Shangri-La traffic light at
about 4:30 pm.
He narrated that the artiste was driving
with a “ number of motorbikes leading
him pushing all other vehicles aside and
his reason was that he was about to fly
and he is late. He is going to take his
belongings and then get back to the
airport so he was forcing his way
through the traffic being led by a
number of motorbikes.”
A Police officer from the Police
Headquarters “got him arrested” after
witnessing the obstruction he had
caused.
Supt. Yaw Tetegah said he could not
determine the number of motorbikes
involved in the incident but they sped
off as soon as they saw the police.
Asked whether Shatta Wale was charged
for the incident, he disclosed that the
2014 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the
Year winner was taken to the Police
Charge Office, his particulars were taken
and he was given a warning letter.”

—It’s unanimous that if care is not taken,
the “sub-standard” notion given to
movies made from Kumasi will become
the norm. Kumawood always gets
negative press because, the type of
movies produced are seen as lacking
professionalism. Is it time for FIPAG to
stand in and denounce these amateur
and insensitive parading of posters? In
other film industries, it could take years
to start thinking of making movies about
events that have happened. The reason
being, research needs to be made so

about Castro surfaced. A few hours ago,
a new poster talking about the deadly
Ebola virus has emerged. Titled “Ebola-
The blood on African Soil”. We don’t
know if this is a publicity stunt or what.

End of the world? Top scientist reveals “We’re f*****!”

It’s probably not the words you want to hear
from a leading figure on climate change.
But Jason Box, a professor at the Geological
Survey of Denmark and Greenland reckons,
“We’re f**ked”.
He made the remarks on his twitter account
after a team of scientists made an alarming
discovery.
It appears that huge quantities of methane
gas are leaking from the sea floor under the
arctic and rising into the atmosphere.
Methane is one of the most dangerous
greenhouse gasses as it traps far more heat
than other gases, such as carbon dioxide.
And this increased temperature is helping to
warm up parts of the Earth at an alarming
rate.
Box told website Motherboard, "Even if a small
fraction of the Arctic carbon were released to
the atmosphere, we're f**ked.”
“Methane is more than 20 times more potent
than CO2 in trapping infrared as part of the
natural greenhouse effect.”
"Methane getting to the surface—that's potent
stuff.”
"The conventional thought is that the bubbles
would be dissolved before they reached the
surface.
“But if the plumes are making it to the surface,
that's a brand new source of heat-trapping
gases that we need to worry about.”
What makes this news even more concerning is
that the Arctic is warming faster than
anywhere else on earth.
And, as the ocean gets hotter, more methane
gets pumped into the atmosphere.
It's all happening fast and Box thinks things
could change very rapidly, "I may escape a lot
of this, but my daughter might not. She's 3
years old."
This news comes as giant sinkholes discovered
in Siberia have been linked to changing
temperatures on the planet.
The holes are forming as long-frozen
permafrost thaws due to increased heat, the
earth around it then collapses.
And given the right conditions, some scientists
are concerned that something similar could
happen in other places around the globe.
Carolyn Ruppel, chief of the U.S. Geological
Survey's Gas Hydrates Project, told NBC
News, "Global warming is happening, and it's
exacerbated in the Arctic.
"And if these craters are related to permafrost
thaw, it's a very visible effect of what's
happening to the Earth."

Tamale Chief demands cows, rams over porno

Persons captured in the recently leaked
pornographic videos risk being banished from
Tamale if they fail to meet the demands of the
spiritual chief of the Tamale Metropolis.
Dakpema Naa Alhassan Dawuni, who has
summoned parents of the over 30 ladies and
the young man at the centre of the infamous
Tamale porno saga, is demanding two bulls and
four rams from them.
The bulls, according to the palace spokesperson,
Mohammed Rashid, which must be black and
white in colour, would be used to atone for the
crime and pacify the gods.
The four rams, it was disclosed, would be given
to some powerful Imams in the city for Quran
recitations to seek the face of Allah to forgive
the young women and their families ‘for the sins
the girls have committed.’
He disclosed that the young man in question
would be given 100 hot strokes of the whip by
palace guards to serve as a deterrent to other
people in the area.
The conduct of the ladies and the sex maniac,
the spokesperson added, were believed to have
caused a draught within the metropolis – there
has not been any rainfall for some weeks now.
Some residents appealed to parents of the
affected ladies to call the bluff of the chief as
according to them, he has no moral justification
to mete out such punishment on them.
They indicated that the ladies and the purported
Canada-based man, called Kamil, committed no
crime as all of them are adults and moreover,
they (ladies) consented to the proposal to
indulge in the act.
Meanwhile, one person has so far been picked
in connection with the source of the leaked
videos and pictures which went viral since last
week.
Police are reluctant in disclosing the identity of
the suspect, but have indicated that he was
being investigated for his roles in the release of
what has now become the ‘Tamale sex tape.’
Obscene pictures involving an unnamed young
man and several known ladies for weeks now
have been circulating on various media
platforms.
The videos revealed known young women
purportedly made up of nurses, restaurant
operators, teachers and business women – some
said to be married – from the metropolis
engaging in hot sexual bouts at various sex
positions on a double bed mattress.
Some of the ladies were taking shower, and the
rest going nude and posing for snapshots which
subsequently found their way into the public
domain.
Parents of the gentleman officially lodged a
complaint with the Northern Regional Police
Command when the nude pictures went viral on
the social media.
It is unclear who might have taken the shots
while they were engaged in the sexual
escapades, but the Northern Regional Police
Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Ebenezer
Tetteh, earlier disclosed to DAILY GUIDE that
they were investigating the matter.
Initially, the pictures were reported to be about
40 shots but what have so far been released are
more than double the estimated number, giving
cause for concern to some parents.
The leakage has allegedly ruined the marriages
of some of the ladies while boyfriends of some
of them are reluctant to accept them back.
It is unclear however the motive behind the
recordings of these escapades.

Sarkodie turns Breastfeeding Ambassador

Ace Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo,
popularly known in showbiz as Sarkodie, has been
unveiled as the 2014 Ambassador for the Ghana
National Breastfeeding Campaign.
The multi award-winning artiste is to use his fame
to promote the culture of breastfeeding among
nursing mothers across the country.
In his acceptance remarks as the ambassador, the
rapper explained the importance of breastfeeding
to the wellbeing of children and nursing mothers.
He was speaking at the launch of the 2014 World
Breastfeeding Week by the Ghana Health Service
(GHS) on Wednesday in Accra.
According to him, breastfeeding prevents babies
from frequently falling ill and thus saves parents
from spending their scarce financial resources on
medical bills.
“Breastfeeding is very essential, and it is to save
yourself the cost and the stress of going to the
hospital all the time just because your child has
fallen sick because he/she has not taken the right
nutrients which are derived from breast milk,” he
said. He urged young mothers to constantly
breastfeed their babies for at least a period
exceeding six months.
He added; “I will let my followers know about the
importance of breastfeeding exceeding six
months… I will do everything I can to promote the
idea. I will use my social media platforms to
educate the public on the need to breastfeed
babies.”
The ‘Give It to Me’ rapper disclosed that the rate
of breastfeeding among young Ghanaian mothers
was very low.

Hiplife artiste Eduwoji of ‘Yenko Nkoa’ fame arrested

Ghanaian Hiplife artiste Eduwoji has been
arrested by the Ada Police on the Accra-Aflao
highway yesterday 7th August 2014 for illegally
possessing a substance suspected to be
marijuana.
The Yenko Nkoa Hit maker who was in a group of
other three young men were said to be on their
way to ‘Mepe’ in the Volta region to perform at
the annual Asafotu festival.
According to sources, other artistes including Stay
Jay, Gallaxy and Tema based music promoter Mc
Coaches were also spotted being searched few
hours prior to Eduwoji’s arrival at the check point
where the police were doing a random search.
In accordance with the police regulation, the
musician and his entourage have been moved to
Ada police station to assist in police investigation.
