The Ghana Police Criminal Investigative Department
(CID) has invited former AIDS ambassador Joyce
Dzidzor Dzidzor Mensah for questioning.
It is not clear what prompted her invitation and
what the CID would be soliciting from her.
Joyce shocked the nation last month when she
declared that contrary to popular belief, she is not
HIV positive.
According to her, she has been lying for the past
four years about her HIV status despite educating
people on the disease and campaigning against
HIV/AIDS stigmatisation.
The Ghana AIDS Commission which worked with
Joyce for years, parading her as an HIV-infected
person, issued a statement insisting she had been
tested HIV positive in 2007.
According to the Public Relations Officer of Police
CID, Joseph Benefo Darkwa, the Ghana AIDS
Commission is also assisting his outfit with
information to assist in their investigation.
